hypersensitivity to energy it's nice to
be sensitive to energy when you know
that it means I'm upstream and I want to
be downstream it's nice to be sensitive
to it when you have the resources and
the memory and the knowledge to know
what to do about it but it's not
comfortable to be sensitive to energy
when you believe that you have to
control the conditions in order to feel
better so we think it's interesting that
it would evolve into a diagnosis that
says quite simply that there are people
in your environment all around you who
are producing chemical concoctions which
they emit into the atmosphere something
as innocuous as someone wearing a strong
perfume or or having some chemicals in
their clothing from dry-cleaning ester
walked in the rain the other day in a
silk blouse and she was amazed at the
fragrance that emitted from her silk
blouse when it got wet she said this is
I smell like a bubblegum Factory
something about the chemicals they had
dry-cleaned her clothing with when it
got wet it was a really interesting
fragrance and so all of these chemicals
that are surround
in you and with your sensitivity to
vibration now we talked earlier a little
bit that what you see you see because
you translate vibration into the sight
equivalent and what you hear is you're
translating vibration into the sound
equivalent what you smell is translating
vibration what you taste is translating
vibration and so everything is
vibrational and if you could get to the
heart of vibration you would understand
why that color looks the way it does why
that sound sounds the way it does why
that light reflects refracts in the way
that it does and why that food tastes
the way it does and why that thing
smells the way it does in other words
it's all vibrationally based and so now
you say ok abraham i get it i'm a
hyper sensitive translator of vibration
and in and in doing so i have these
different responses then you say which
is really what the heart of your
question was but why would i create an
uncomfortable bodily condition about
something that i don't even know that
i'm doing well how how could i create
something that i don't know that i'm
doing and we say because attention to a
subject sets up a vibration and when you
set up a vibration that vibration is
playing off of another vibration and
that results in the manifestation that
you're living so in the same way that

you're able to feel negative emotion and
turn us off more positively you can add
even more subtle levels since a
vibration and then then reach with your
mind for a different vibration and youcan literally sift through the vibration
of your time-space reality without the
people around you doing anything to
change itnow did you hear that we'll go back and
say that again because it was was a lot
that we said in there so here's what
we're saying okay there is a tendency to
believe that Here I am standing in the
smack-dab in the middle of my life and
that I'm having responses to life our
friend earlier is having responses to
her 18 year old daughter our friend is
having response to his house not
in other words your your there are
conditions that are happening and you
are observing the conditions and you're
having vibrational responses to those
conditions and in those cases you can
see them as conscious things that you
are observing it's like a reality that I
am observing so you sort of get that and
you can even get how you can observe
things and then decide to take a
different slant on them and by using the
power of your mind turn your attention
in a different way
so that the condition that you're been
observing doesn't take you on such a
wild and raucous walk ride in other
words isn't that what you're getting
from this discussion here today that you
have the power to see it as an upstream
idea or a downstream idea and depending
upon which way you decide to make it you
will benefit or not depending upon the
direction of your thought so now what
we're suggesting to you is that in less
obvious ways there are thoughts that you
think that are detrimental to your
physical well-being and thoughts that
you think that are beneficial to your
well-being that you are somehow
translating in terms of the way
chemicals are responding to you but the
chemicals are just the path of least
resistance in the way they're showing up
it really is the thought that poisons
not the chemical and and that's why
they're saying to you that it's it's
sort of something that you're creating
revenues and and that's why everybody is
not having the same experience now give
yourself a break in this and acknowledge
that the dog hears things that I don't
hear and that everybody is emitting
vibrations and the universe is
responding to their vibrations and then
say to yourself now this is something
that we think is just wonderful we were
talking earlier about post manifestation
awareness how what I think and therefore
what I feel and what manifests is always
a vibrational match there are no
exceptions to that
so once something is manifested you can
kind of
what the vibration was that you had
going on because the manifestation sort
of points it out so then we say but
isn't it nice to have awareness in
advance so that you can turn your
thoughts into a more productive or
beneficial way so that what manifests is
more pleasing and so then you say Here I
am in this situation where I've got this
manifestation that is occurring and we
say we have long been saying if you've
got some negative emotion going on which
means resistance in your vibration which
means you got your stream moving fast
and for some reason you're not letting
yourself go with it don't worry you'll
feel negative emotion and if you don't
recognize that your streams moving in
one direction and that you're not
letting yourself go with it don't worry
it will get bigger and if you still
don't notice it and do something about
trying to get downstream don't worry it
will get bigger and if you still don't
notice it and do something about it
don't worry it will get bigger because
everything in this leading-edge universe
is becoming more and more exaggerated
and so all that's happened to you is you
are now having a manifestation Ulrich's
got your attention so but now what
you're thinking the result is you see
what's causing you concern is what
you're saying is well I have a
sensitivity to chemicals that I can't
even see and it isn't until I come into
contact with them that I have a
detrimental response and we say oh but
doesn't that pretty much sound like what

thought until things went really wrong

saying to us we didn't have negative

disconnect isn't working because of
things that have been going on in your
vibration is not the other way around
everything that manifests is
vibrationally based you see in such a
room so you don't have to figure out
what chemicals you're allergic to you

to figure out what thoughts you're
allergic to and we'll say to you you can
every time they don't feel good when you
think of their thoughts like I'm not
good enough they're thoughts like I'm
not smart enough they're thoughts like I
should have done something different
their thoughts like oh I'm wasting my
life their thoughts like I don't know
what to do their thoughts like oh that
one's doing better than me their
thoughts like I should be doing better
their thoughts like oh I've lived so
much life and I haven't figured it out
they're poison thoughts or objects in it
okay when I came here for instance I
wouldn't allow myself to think well
there were low before the perfume now I
won't be able to say because that's
happened or when I say that the when
they got the room at the hotel sometimes
they put a lot of sense in the room I
didn't let myself to think about that
and everything works out fine you know I
am here you're here and you're
surrounded by chemicals exam you're here
and you're surrounded by all the stuff
that often can set you off but you've
been here focused in an environment that
is mostly carried you downstream and so
you have more than usual been alignment
with who you are and in your in
alignment you're not out of whack you're

those same symptoms even though the

credit for have been present around you

find out leads us to believe you might

hospital they told me but I didn't go to

Abraham: "well here's the way we would
approach all of this your physical body
as we said earlier is a chemical factory
that has the ability to produce anything
that you desire and you have all of
these trillions of cells that know what
they're supposed to do that know the
relationship to each other that are
continually asking for whatever they
need in order to achieve balance so the
better you feel the more you are
allowing the balance remember earlier
when we said there are three parts of
the process you asked Source Energy
answers and then you allow so the cells
of your body are asking and Source
Energy is answering and the better you
feel the more you are allowing in other
words we see people who have been told
that they shouldn't eat this and this
and this and this and now they are worse
off than if they have not been told that
because they keep wanting to eat it and
every time they eat it they feel guilty
and so now when they eat it or just
think about eating it they set up
resistance that does not allow the
well-being to flow in other words it's
an interesting thing to watch our
population we're surprised that any of
you can find anything to eat because
almost everything that you have ever
even thought about eating somebody has
found some reason that you should not
eat it for some reason you see and so
what we are projecting and what we are
encouraging is that you begin to make
peace with your food love your food and
in doing so love yourself back into
well-being and what you begin to notice
is if you are eating something that your
body is not wanting you will begin to
feel this
for it in the eating of it but if you
have got yourself in a place where you
feel guilty about everything that you
eat then you can't be sensitive to those
vibrations you say there are many
physicians that would say oh Abraham you
should not be telling people that they
can go off and eat anything that they
want to eat and we say we're encouraging
you to get into a place of feeling good
and then follow whatever action is
inspired from that good feeling place
there are those who say should I go to
the doctor and we say if you want
well-being and if you believe that the
doctor is the path to your well-being
then going to the doctor may very well
be the catalyst that aligns you with Source Energy but if you do not think
that going to the doctor is a good idea
and you go to the doctor now the very
same activity is serving as the catalyst
to not align you you see and the biggest
thing about all of it is that it is
again one more thing that physical
beings are doing to each other that
falls into the category of saying to you
you don't have sense enough to know in
other words it's like saying to the child
there is danger there when there is no
danger and then the child gets to the
place where they cannot identify real
danger because they have been told that
there was danger when there wasn't for
so long that now they don't trust their
ability to know they trust their parents
ability to know but their parents cannot
always be there with them you see and
the same sort of thing begins to happen
to people relative to diet or rather
relative to physical body conditions
they get so they don't trust themselves
and the doctors can't make up their mind
what you should eat because every other
day there's another book coming out that
contradicts the last book that came out
and so here is the final scoop on food
food good
and you say what kind of food is good
and what kind of food is bad and we say
make a decision of how you want to feel
say clearly on a regular basis I want to
feel good I want to feel hearty I want
to be energized
I want this food to empower me I want to
thrive I want food to really fuel me
I want the cells of my body to be
satisfied in what they're asking for I
want to be sensitive to what my cells
are asking for so that I'm inspired to
the food that were provided in a
dominant way I want to find the rhythm
of my body I want to know that I'm
eating the right thing I want to be
drawn to the right thing I want food to
be satisfying I want it to be a
pleasurable thing I want it to bring me
a sense of well-being
I wanted to satisfy me in all ways and
as you say those kinds of things on a
really regular basis the things that
will satisfy those things will be the
things that pop out for you everywhere
and so someone says well what keeps
popping out for me is this gooey
chocolate doughnut that I see a big sign
for and we say well then go to the
chocolate doughnut and eat the chocolate
doughnut and see how it feels and if it
feels good eat it and if you feel
reluctance once you have lined up with
the energy and once you are in sync with
following your bliss relative to food
anything that's not good for you you
will not feel a gravitation to but this
will happen in every single case once
you align in the way that we are
describing here all kinds of things will
feel good to you some of the time in
other words sometimes you could do with
a little dose of high sugar sometimes
it's just exactly what you need for the
thought process that you're working on
or for the boost of energy that you want
but if you gravitate to it over and over
and over again so that there is an
inordinate amount of it within your
system then you do not feel so good and
then you feel like gravitating to other
things and most of you are so paranoid
about food that you never get into that
place of allowing yourself to be guided
you see that's the optimum expiry

the way you perceive it in other words
there are more people today receiving
detrimental results from smoking tobacco
than 10 years ago and much more than 20
years ago and it's not because of
increase in smoking it's because of
increase in resistance about the subject
in other words when you say I shouldn't
do that but I'm doing it anyway
that's the worst contradiction in your
vibration to do something that you
believe is detrimental is the worst
possible thing that you could do and
there are a lot of people that would say
well Abraham then then they should stop
doing it and we should say well what
they should stop doing is pushing
against it and then people say so you're
saying they could go ahead and smoke and
just not worry about it and they
wouldn't have negative repercussions and
we say the negative repercussions come
through the crack of least resistance
they're not about the tobacco they're
about the misaligned energy okay good
people don't want to hear that because
it's so much easier to find a scapegoat
it's so much easier to say well that is
the reason for that and we say the
reason for everything that you are
living their reason for your joy is
alignment the reason for your absence of
joy is misalignment the reason for your
health is alignment the reason for your
absence of health is misalignment the
reasons for your well-being is alignment
and ease the reason for your disease is
disease in other words contradicted
energy and the reason that a woman said
to us one day Abraham I'm a positive
person and I'm so sick I have this and
this and this and this my friend is so
negative and she's not sick at all
what's going on and we said it depends
upon how fast your stream is moving
you've lived life your streams moving
really fast you got to move with the
stream that your life caused you to get
going and if you don't move in the
direction of your fast-moving stream if
you hold back from it if you're thinking
thought if you're thinking these
thoughts and who you really
is going this way there's a
contradiction in your energy that will
show up to the path of least resistance
and so for many people that path of
least resistance which at one time was
other things is now that thing called
smoking because that's where so much
attention has been applied recently and
so it shows up through that way it's
sort of like you know how when you have
a dream and in within the dream have we
told you not today yet but maybe you've
heard us say before that what you think
and what you feel in what manifests
always match and in light manner what
you are living in your dream state is a
match to the vibration of your being
always so have you ever awakened from a
dream that had a lot of specifics about
things that have just been going on in
your life experience and we say the
essence of your dream came from your
vibrational countenance the details of
your dream came from the stuff you've
been gathering up lately and so the same
thing is true with every manifestation
the essence of it comes from your
vibration you're either going with who
you are or you're not but the details of
it come from what you've just recently
been picking up along your physical
trail every time but what you've been
picking up along your physical trail is
not the reason for the creation it's
your vibrational discord or alignment
that is responsible for what's happening
did you get that so what's not good for
you is doing something that you believe
is not good for you because there are a
"lot of people who smoke who are not experiencing the negative repercussions
now medical body of knowledge would jump
right in the middle of that statement
and and proclaim it as inappropriate but
it's resistance that is not good for you
and so anything that here's here's the
way we would sort this out we said it
earlier today that if you're going to do
something line up with it don't don't
say I want to do it but it's bad for me
but I'm going to do it anyway because
that split energy and that's what's not
good for you so if you believe it's bad
then don't do it
you say well that's easier I I said i like it I like it I just don't think
it's good for me and we say well you can't you can't have both of those things active in your vibration and do a good service to your physical body or to your vibration if you believe if you believe it's bad then stop doing itbut you can want to do it and bring yourself to believe in your well-being more than in the behavior that would"
jeopardize your well-being and that's
where we part company from a science and
medicine relative to this subject
because they look at evidence of
sickness and then they look for
correlating behavior and we don't look
for correlating behavior we look for
correlating vibration so it's possible
to shift the way you feel about
something and clean up your energy
without taking the action if you decide
that so so where do you think you're at
do you think that what do you think is
the path of least resistance this is
this is really the question that matters
because the path of least resistance
means what's going to get you in the
vortex the fastest so we're just going
to ask you do you think that it would be
easier for you to believe that you can
smoke and thrive or do you think it
would be easier for you to believe that
you could stop smoking we're not asking
you what you want to do more we're
asking you what you believe is the path
of least resistance do you think it
would be easier for you to give up
smoking or easier for you to give up the
belief that smoking is harmful that's
that's really the question because it's
releasing the resistance is all that
matters so
is it easier to give up smoking or is it
easier to give up and and you know this
speaks to something that we've been
talking about all day here today because
in every discussion we've we have
maintained and supported and promoted
and encouraged and done our best dog and
pony show all day every
when we get a chance to talk to anybody
we say you can change your belief it's
not the behavior that needs to be
changed and everything that we teach is
about the control of vibration the
alignment of vibration is not about
controlling behavior so ultimately the
path of least resistance certainly is in
the alignment so once you reconcile a
subject that's active in your vibration
everyday is something like that is and
you make peace with where you are and
you come into the vortex and you're
smoking and in alignment and smoking and
alignment and no longer beating up on
yourself and no longer trying to beat up
on other people that are trying to get
you to quit in other words that's the
biggest thing that's the biggest cause
of resistance relative with the subject
of smoking that exists on the planet
today as you're now as you figure out
how to smoke and stay in the vortex and
smoke and stay in the vortex most
important thing to take away from this
conversation is if you're gonna do it
line up with it which means you don't
have conversations with people about it
you don't apologize for it you don't be
upset about their perspective of it you
don't try to be right and make them
wrong in other words you just sort of
wait and and and that's the thing that's
tricky about any behavior that other
people think that they get to have an

presentation of missing links the deep
truth of our origin history destiny and
fate in the last episode we only began
to scratch the surface of the
extraordinary potential that's available
to us through harmonizing our heart and
our brain marrying these two organs

the secret of an extended lifespan we'll
also discover how our advanced nervous
system triggers and actually
supercharges our anti-aging mechanism so
that we can have long healthy and vital
lives we've often heard it said that
from the moment were born we begin to
die no I know what the intention is
around that and I know where people's
thinking comes from because they're
referencing the aging process but I want
to tell you there's a consequence to
thinking that way and it's a consequence
that we probably would never consciously
inflict upon ourselves because our
bodies respond to those kinds of
thoughts the new science is showing us
something very very different it's
actually more accurate to say that from
the moment we're born we begin to heal
here's where that thinking is going
there is a huge difference between
thinking of life when we come into this
world as a finite amount of experience
that we use up gradually over time okay
there's a big difference between that
and thinking of life as a living entity
that is always constantly replenishing
rejuvenating and healing itself if you
think about it this is a huge huge
difference because when we think about
life is a finite quantity we have set
into motion an expectation maybe a
subconscious X
tation that every day every year every
decade we're using a little bit more a
little bit more a little bit more and
I'm not saying it's right wrong good or
bad I'm saying it's all about how you
choose to live your life if you choose
to live a healthy and vital in the
productive life well beyond what is
typically accepted that the years that
we see today the 70 to 100 years that is
the average in the Western world today
and that thinking has to change this
explains why when we see people that are
typically of advanced age they look like
they are of advanced age you ever
thought about this if you ever thought
about why is it that someone when they
are a hundred or a hundred and ten or a
hundred and fourteen years old which is
right now the oldest living person is
recorded in the Guinness Book of Records
114 years old when we see someone that
is 114 and that their eyes appear dull
they don't have that sparkle anymore
their physical coronation has begun to
wane their skin has lost that elasticity
and we look at them and they look like
her 114 years old if we allow the
mechanisms in our bodies to do what
they're designed to do there is as I
mentioned this huge difference between
thinking that we're using up life as
we're going through life and embracing
the fact that we are constantly
replenishing the cells of our bodies
we know that the organs of our bodies
heal and replenish the cells different
rates the stomach lining happens every
day the heart tissue for example happens
less frequently but we know that this is
happening what I want to talk to you
about today is the mechanism that allows
this replenishing to happen what we know
about it what it means to us what it is
meant in ages past and what it could
mean in your life in the future and to
do this I'm going to begin this
conversation in Tibet I've had the
opportunity I was blessed with about a
decade
of travel throughout Tibet in the time
when it was very accessible and was very
easy to go into the Tibetan Plateau and
into the monasteries and nunneries that
have the the wisdom the records the
texts that record the wisdom and also to
be with the people he lived the wisdom
is recorded in those texts so there are
twelve monasteries and two nunneries
between the capital of Tibet Lhasa and
the highest portions of the mountain
ranges where I would routinely go and I
had the opportunity to lead small groups
of people into these places and we would
go into monastery after monastery after
monastery and nunnery after nunnery I'm
be with the people through the
translators we could sit with them in
the chanting halls when they were doing
the prayers and when they were doing
their chants and for me this is the
value once again of being with our
indigenous family something that we
simply cannot get from the hieroglyphs
on a temple wall or from the words and
an old crumbling page because it's only
through human interaction heart-to-heart
mind mind eye to eye God to God human to
human that we can have the kinds of
conversations where I can witness in
them something that I may not understand
their ability to create a miraculous
healing in their physical body
instantaneously or to regulate their
body temperature to raise and lower that
temperature instantaneously when it's 15
degrees Fahrenheit outside they can go
and sit outside and consciously raise
their body temperature to a point where
that coal doesn't affect them I wasn't
talking about that in my life and my
culture and so I can say to these people
how did you do that how did you do what
is that you were doing and they will
answer me through the translator in
Tibetan and if I don't understand what
they just said through that translator I
can go back and ask them again and again
and again until I understand what's
happening and that's something I cannot
do from the hieroglyphs of a Mayan wall
or an Egyptian temple wall that's why
it's important to be with our family
our global family and to preserve the
wisdom in our time is disappearing so
very quickly but they preserved 400 some
cases thousands of years so it was in
Tibet and it was in mm in this case in
2008 where I had the opportunity to go
to one of the most remote monasteries it
took six days out of Lhasa just to get
to the monastery and once we were there
the only way to get to the monastery was
through the local mode of transportation
a yak which is a amazing way to travel
if you've never traveled by yak
up the mountain trail to the monastery
and it was in this place where I first
encountered some of the nuns who I
sensed or of advanced age but I didn't
know for sure because on the one hand
they looked like they might be but on
the other hand they didn't look like
elderly people that I had encountered in
the West their skin was taught it wasn't
baggy and saggy their eyes were bright
and clear they had teeth they had hair
sometimes they shave their hair
especially the women shave their hair
for convenience for hygiene but it's
still growing and so it was in this
particular monastery where I asked one
particular woman how old are you and I
asked because the Mother Superior was
able to provide the papers now this is
one of those places in this program I
cannot show you her face for security
and to honor and respect her privacy and
her safety okay then let me tell you
about her and then we are going to look
at a couple of other examples where I
can show you their faces and you're
gonna see the same thing but it was in
this particular woman it was the first
time this is my tip off my clue that
longevity is possible in ways that we
simply don't embrace in the West we
discount it we call it a hoax or we call
it a fake but it's like those out of
place artifacts so many examples of
advanced age are cropping up in so many
places of the world the anomalies are
now beginning to tell a story and the
story is very different from the story
that you and I probably have been led to
believe in the past the tibetan nun that
i'm talking about right now when we saw
her
papers what we saw is the confirmed date
of her birth was 1885 alright and the
year that I was with her was the year
2005 we went back again in 2008 my first
contact with her was in 2005 1885 to
2005 that means I was looking into the
eyes of a woman who's a hundred and
twenty years old she did not look like a
hundred and twenty years old she lived
in a single room she walked to the river
every morning down the hillside to bring
up the water she grew a lot of her own
food in the vessels and the vases that
were available to her basel tomatoes
herbs that she would eat every day in a
very very minimal diet she was good
healthy strong and vital and that told
me that something is happening with her
that maybe is happening with other
people well interestingly I asked her
what was her secret and she looked at me
through the translator and she said one
word compassion she said that's what we
learn in these monasteries that is the
essence of our Buddhist teachings it's
all about compassion well see in a
moment why compassion we have an effect
of longevity before we do that I want to
show you a couple of their cases because
because I want you to see this isn't an
anomaly was it long after I met this
Tibetan woman that the national media
ran a story about a woman in the
Palestinian territories and you're
seeing her face on the screen right now
because she made national news this is
on the Associated Press this woman when
you look at her ask yourself how old do
you think she is
because here's her story she went
shopping one day she hadn't been out for
a while she had to go through a military
checkpoint that she didn't have to go
through before it didn't exist before
they looked at her papers they said your
papers are expired you have to go to the
authorities and get some new papers and
that's when she made headlines because
when they check back through her records
they found that her date of birth was 18
eight and the woman you're looking at in
the year 2008 she is a hundred and
twenty years old
yeah I'm not saying that she looks like
she's in her 20s but I think she looks
really good for a hundred and twenty
years old her eyes are bright her skin
color is good her teeth are good she
still has her hair and I want to know
what is her secret she said the secret
for her was the love that she had for
her family her children her
grandchildren great-grandchildren
great-great-grandchildren she said they
need me every day what would they do
without me she says I fixed their meals
I help them with their schoolwork I help
them everything they're doing in their
lives I work in the garden so that I can
prepare the food for them she feels
needed and she loves her family and she
feels loved as a heart based experience
all right so that's two and these are
women and I wanted to find an example
that was of a male and it was only
through the research I was able to find
what I'm about to share with you and I'm
sharing it with you and I believe this
is factual because it was documented by
the military and it was also document by
documented in an article in Time
magazine early in the 20th century the
man that you're looking at right now has
a very interesting history his name is
li ching-yuen the image that you're
seeing is a photograph that was taken of
him in 1927 by the Chinese military he
was at the residence having a meal with
an Army General at the time he was born
in Sichuan China
he spent the early part of his life as
an herbalist he was a high altitude
herbalist and he was also a martial
artist so he lived in high elevation
thin air a minimal diet of very specific
kinds of herbs and he learned about the
energy of the human body through martial
arts he enlisted in the Chinese military
at a relatively late age he was 72 years
old when he enlisted as a cartographer
and he is documented as enlisting in the
military in the year 17:49 Chinese keep
meticulous records and that's why I
trust these records 17:49 he he left the
military and he went back to his home in
the mountains after he served as a
cartographer at the age of 97 and three
years later the military records sent
him a congratulations on his 100th
birthday that was the year 1777 they
sent him another congratulations on his
150th birthday and the records show this
very clearly in the year 1827 this is
where it gets really really interesting
they sent him another congratulations
for his 200th birthday in the year 1877
he died May 6th 1933 his birthdate now
the two different dates he said that his
birthdate was later he said he was only
born in 1736 the military records
however showed that he was born in 1677
so either one of these is showing a man
of tremendously advanced age his death
his age at death was either 197 or 256
and this mortars of what are called
biblical ages when he died he was seven
feet tall he had accomplished 14
marriages over 11 generations and by

some estimates as many as a hundred and
eighty children that were attributed to
his marriages Time magazine wrote an
article on him oddly and actually did an
obituary May 15 1933 they acknowledged
the validity of his longevity and in
this article they asked what was the
secret to his long life before he had
died he ensured that secret the secret
he said was all about the heart the
secret was
keep a quiet heart now this is not
typical I don't think it's the oldest
because the time that I have spent in
Tibet the monks and the nuns have told
me that there are Yogi's that are much
older I I'm not sharing those with you
here and here's the reason why I cannot
document it
I cannot say to you factually as a
scientist those those Yogi's are
actually four and five hundred years old
and the truth is that the lives that I
am told they live don't sound like very
exciting lives they live lives of
ascetics very little clothing they don't
move very much they spend a lot of time
in meditation in their bodies their
bodies are they're strong and they're
healthy but they're not as engaged in
everyday life if I'm going to live to
three four hundred years old I'd like to
be very engaged in everyday life from
the time I was five years old I told my
mom that I would be in this world I'd be
on earth for 200 years I'm I'm on the
200-year plan and what mom used to laugh
when I would tell her that she later in
life began to take it very seriously and
she would say that to me when it came
time to wish me happy birthday she would
say I could wish you happy birthday she
said but you're on the 200-year plan so
I have a lot a lot more opportunities to
do just this the point is can we live
beyond this traditional 70 to 100 years
would we want to and a lot of times that
I ask people if they want to what they
say to me is they they don't want to
because to them old age equates to
suffering old age equates to the body
breaking down and the things that
they've seen in their lifetimes I want
to say to you
right now it doesn't have to be that way
the science is showing us this and the
indigenous traditions are telling us
this what was the common link between
the three people of advanced age that we
just talked about the Palestinian woman
that Tibetan nun and Li what was the
common theme and I gave the way already
because I'm not good at keeping secrets
I gave it away
each of them had a feeling the
Palestinian woman felt love for her
family
and she felt that she was loved the
tibetan nun felt the feeling of
compassion it's a heart based experience
li said the secret was a quiet heart
feeling the feelings of calmness and
serenity in his life so the common
thread for all of these all of them are
linked to a heart based experience can
you say well why would a heart based
experience create this kind of longevity
and the answer to that is the secret to
where we're going right now it probably
comes as no surprise that a heart based
experience would have some effect on our
longevity but the mechanism is where I
want to talk to you about right now
because what you have just learned in
the last episode the ability to
harmonize your heart in your brain in a
very precise way in addition to all of
the benefits that we've already shared
is the underlying trigger to unlock the
potential of longevity and vitality
healthy longevity in your life and it
all begins not surprisingly with our DNA
and the chromosomes that we have talked
about earlier in this program each time
our cells divide something really really
interesting begins to happen among the
many interesting things that happen
within the chromosomes themselves in the
earlier episode I described how the tip
of every chromosome the DNA at the tip
of every chromosome has a special
component called a telomere at the end
and I didn't talk a lot about those
telomeres then because I knew I would
right now a telomere you can think of in
just the way you would think of the
shoelaces on your tennis shoes okay if
you look at the ends of the shoelaces on
your tennis shoes they typically have a
little plastic cap over the end that
keeps them from fraying and makes it
possible for you to lace them through
the eyes on your shoes
well the ends of your DNA your telomeres
are the equivalent of those little
plastic caps and every time your cell
divides the chromosomes in the division
process they are in
capable of completing the vision all the
way to the end of the DNA so what that
means is with each cell division a
little piece of the DNA breaks off it's
brittle it breaks away and it's lost
that is what the telomeres do they are
the buffer so that what breaks off is
the telomere and not the information in
the DNA itself so when one cell divides
into two you lose a little bit of
telomeres in the end that's okay you've
got a lot left to divide in the four you
lose a little bit more you've got a lot
left but not as much as you did before
and you see where this is going it goes
on and on for a finite period of time
until we reach a point where the
telomere is so short or it is so weak it
can no longer protect the rest of the
DNA and when your cell reaches that
point we call it senescence we call it
old-age and eventually we call it death
because the cell cannot preserve the
information the DNA cannot preserve the
information and because of that it will
allow itself to divide with map
information all right so that's the
mechanism telomere shortening it's
directly linked to stress in our lives I
want to say this to you directly I'm
going to read directly from the
scientific document so you know it's not
my opinion I want you to hear exactly
what it is they're saying about this in
the Proceedings of National Academy of
Sciences the title of this research
article it tells the whole story listen
to the title accelerated telomere
shortening in response to life stress
what they're saying is chronic stress
erodes the telomeres it impairs the DNA
replication and it accelerates the aging
so this is peer-reviewed science saying
in the open paper what we're talking
about right now it is the stress the
stress of life it can come from any
places it can come from the job it come
from work it can be an emotional stress
it can be environmental stress it can be
psychological stress it can be a healing
crisis there are all kinds of stress so
it's not the stress it's about how we
interpret and how we deal with that
stress
when we are born we have a very high
complement of telomeres what scientists
tell us is when we're born we have about
eight thousand base pairs of telomeres
to begin with by the time we're in our
30s we have maybe half of that number
and by the time we're in our 60s we have
maybe about a third of that number
typically but the good news is all that
can change and you can direct how it
changes in your life the lifetime of a
telomere in the lifetime of a cell are
generally accepted to be about 40 to 60
cell division so 40 to 60 cell divisions
as generally did the lifetime of an
average cell this is what sign is tell
us it is the limit of that lifetime and
the limit actually has a name it's named
after the man that discovered the limit
it is called
the hayflick limit hayflick limit that
is the number of times the hayflick
limit defines how many times ourselves
can divide before they reach the point
where the telomeres aren't working any
longer interestingly that hayflick limit
equates if you take that number of cell
divisions and how long they live that
equates to about a hundred and twenty
years of human life so we're beginning
to see why we do see people living up to
120 years we don't see a lot after that
because they have reached this hayflick
limit the question is can we increase
that hayflick limit are we bound to that
limit and the answer is yes or we
wouldn't be having this conversation and
the discovery in 2009 tells us why it's
possible in 2009 the Nobel Prize in
medicine and physiology was awarded to
three people - Carol Greider Elizabeth
Blackburn and Jack szostak they all work
together to discover an enzyme in the
human body now think about this this is
2009 it was just a few years ago and
they're still discovering things about
the human body that we haven't known in
the past this new enzyme was mysterious
at first they found the enzyme they
weren't sure what the function was but
the only place they found the enzyme was
hovering near the end of the telomeres
so they theorized maybe this enzyme has
something to do with the telomeres and
if it does maybe the enzyme has
something to do with long life so their
discovery of this enzyme is what the
Nobel Prize was awarded for the name of
the enzyme tells the whole story it
gives it away
okay the telomeres are what determine
how long the cell can live and divide
the enzyme they discovered is called
telomerase and the purpose of this
enzyme the only purpose of the
telomerase in our bodies is to heal and
repair the telomeres at the end of our
DNA the thing is often our telomerase is
not actively engaged in its greatest
potential it's dormant or if not
completely dormant it is not as active
as it can be well what scientists found
after they discovered the telomeres they
began looking into the function of the
telomeres and the telomerase working
together and once again not my words I
want to share with you the exact words
of what it is that they found the
National Institutes of Health produced a
series of articles in the year 2011 and
I'm just going to share with you to
direct sentences from that number one
they're saying that the telomeres
shorten with AIDS I say telomere length
shortens with age that is a fact okay
the next sentence is the key because
they say the rate of telomere shortening
can be either increased or decreased by
specific lifestyle factors
what that means is that you and I have
the ability to make choices in our lives
that will either accelerate the aging
process senescence old age and death or
we make lifestyle choices that breathe
life and activate these anti-aging
hormones and the telomerase in our
bodies and some of these factors you
already know of course diet exercise
lifestyle you know about those things
but there's another factor now that you
already know but you may not realize as
impacting the duration of your cell life
and that is the technique of heart brain
harmony that we just learned in the last
episode because that technique of heart
brain harmony as you activate that in
your life what it's doing is its setting
up the communication between your heart
and your brain and your breathing is
telling your body that you're in a place
that's safe and that is redefining any
stress that you may feel and your body
members stress is one of the key factors
to decreasing the length of the
telomeres so it's not just about
meditating and it's not just about
saying a chant although those things can
help but it's about creating this
environment in our advanced and extended
neural network it signals to our bodies
that we are in a safe place where it is
okay to put all the energy into the body
into the healing regeneration and
rejuvenation rather than sending that
energy in the fence of the world around
us through the stress of cortisol and
adrenaline I know that's a big big idea
the bottom line is heart bringing
harmony is a trigger for longevity what
you're seeing on your screen right now I
didn't want you just take my word for it
I want you to see this you're looking at
telomeres these are photomicrographs
of telomeres I'm going to show you
before and after this is a photograph of
telomeres that are of advanced age there
aren't many of them left they are the
little pink areas that you're seeing
you're looking down at the end of a
strand of DNA okay this is through the
aging process now the next image that
you see is going to be precisely the
same telomeres however the telomerase
has been activated and when it's
activated it will heal in reverse the
aging process and now you're seeing it
right here look at this that is the same
telemeter that now is rejuvenated what
you're seeing is anti-aging you're
seeing it real time in the DNA and this
is human DNA what's possible in this
slide is possible in your body so modern
science is now revealing it's solving
one of the deepest mysteries of the
greatest truths of human existence we
are literally wired I'm gonna be
